Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney will present 63 mining projects to global investors next week. These projects account for 63 of 167 opportunities in his C$1 trillion ($723 billion) investment pitchbook. Carney aims to secure C$1 trillion in investment for Canada over five years.
The Canada Investment Summit will take place in Toronto on September 14-15. Mining and metals form the largest sector in the pitchbook. This compares to 31 clean energy projects, 19 advanced manufacturing projects, and 16 marine and port infrastructure projects.
Several publicly traded miners have confirmed projects in the booklet. These include LithiumBank Resources, Critical Elements Lithium, Canagold Resources, and Troilus Mining. The projects cover various minerals such as lithium, gold, copper, nickel, graphite, and rare earths.
Canadian mining companies raised C$10.1 billion ($7.3 billion) on stock exchanges through July. This marks a 75% increase from the previous year. Investors attending the summit oversee more than C$100 trillion in assets.
